Seville To Granada Day Trip

Seville To Granada Day Trip

A private Experience in Granada

Explore the Alhambra Qalat Al-Hamra   (The Red One.) Located on a hilltop that dominates the plains, built originally in AD 889 (approx) as a small fortress with recycled materials from a Roman fortification. Then sort of abandoned until mid 1200’s when the emir of Granada decide to use this location for his court and residence and he sent to build the palace and walls. Later converted into Royal Palace by the Sultan Yusuf I. Later after the Reconquista by the Catholic Kings it became the court for Isabel and Fernando.

A palace where Christopher Columbus received the Royal endorsement for his expedition.

Abandoned again for centuries it was re-discovered again after Napoleonic troops used their cannons as retaliation against spaniards. Used later by Romantic poets and travellers to inspire their novels and poems. Be marvelled with the delicate decoration of the three Nasrid muslim palaces. Each one of them unique in its kind, and every new addition always following the consistent idea of ¨Paradise on Earth¨.
After the Alhambra, the tour continues with the Albaycin original site for what is now Granada. It would be walking through  hills and narrow cobblestone streets so comfortable shoes are a must! Visit also mirador de  San Nicolás (viewpoint) where the best views of the city of Granada can be admired.

Also we will cover some ground in the downtown area, near the Darro river, and around the Cathedral. Every turn something more enticing seems to be awaiting to be discovered. Granada is one of those places that seem magical. Visit with an official guide and let us take you off the beaten path. And more important, this is your tour, you set the pace.
